A very popular beach dive in Palm Beach County is at Phil Foster Park called
"Blue Heron Bridge". This dive site is very convenient; parking is available
right next to the sand. Depth ranges from 6 feet to 15 feet and the
variety of life is quite impressive. This dive should only be done around
high tide, while still allowing for 90 to 120 minute dives. It is an
excellent place to learn underwater photography. You may see octopus, worms,
scorpionfish, squid, starfish, horseshoe crabs, sea horses, arrow crabs, puffer
fish, barracuda, stingrays, angelfish, flying gunard, robbin fish, urchins,
anenome, and much more. Hire a personal guide for
this dive for only $30. This is also a good site for snorkeling.
When is high tide at Blue Heron Bridge?
Every three months we prepare a chart which shows only high-tides during daylight hours at the
Blue Heron Bridge. You can look up all tides for any date at the National
Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration website, then sift through the data looking
for convenient times to dive high tide.
Or, just sign up for my newsletter and we will send you the chart for free
showing all
daylight occurring high-tides at Blue Heron Bridge. You will receive the
most recent chart as soon as you sign up and we will email out updated charts throughout the year.
